What to expect

Here's how it works when you come to see me—from the first contact to ongoing sessions. No jargon, just what you can expect. Open any section below whenever you're curious.

Counselling is an unfolding process where you embark upon a road of self-discovery. It can help you gain more insight into your relationships—whether with the world around you, with others, or with yourself. I'll support and work with you at your own pace so you can find your unique way forward.

You may feel stuck and unable to move forward, repeating old patterns. In the therapeutic space we can explore what's going on beneath the surface so you can gain greater insight and awareness. I offer both short- and long-term counselling and psychotherapy, depending on your needs.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can address your needs and concerns. Working with a therapist can support you through difficult stages of life and help you learn to support yourself. If you're unsure where to start, get in touch—we can talk it through.

Counselling is a talking therapy—a safe, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences with someone trained to listen and support you, without judgment.

I won’t tell you what to do. Instead, we’ll work together so you can make sense of what’s going on and find your own way forward. Your voice matters.

Sessions usually last 50 minutes. You bring what you want to talk about; I listen, ask questions and reflect with you. We'll go at your pace—there's no rush. For couples and families, the same applies: we focus on what matters to you.

I offer sessions in person (Harrow and Hertfordshire) and online, so we can find what suits you best.

Some people want a few sessions to focus on something specific; others prefer longer-term work. There's no one-size-fits-all. We'll agree together what feels right and can review as we go.

What you share in sessions stays confidential. I work to the BACP ethical framework. There are very rare exceptions—for example, if there were a serious risk of harm—and I would talk that through with you openly if it ever arose.

I know reaching out can feel like a big step. I offer a free 15-minute consultation (by phone or video) so you can meet me, ask anything you like, and see if we're a good fit. There's no obligation to book further sessions—only if it feels right for you.

If you’d like to continue, we’ll arrange your first full session. We’ll talk about what’s brought you here and how you’d like to use the time. You’re welcome.
